Dr Stevenson is interested in helping people through multiple modalities, by first thoroughly listening to their story, to understand why they are presenting now, with their current problems or symptoms, and often it is necessary to understand their life story, which may also involve meeting with family members, or talking with others that have been involved in their treatment journey. Medications may be very helpful, but Dr Stevenson also specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and in psychoanalytic psychotherapy which may be helpful for you. Dr Stevenson is also interested in considering what other therapies, or treatments with other practitioners could help you,  in your recovery.

A Graduate of the University of Western Australia in 1995, she was then an intern and resident in Hobart, before venturing overseas and completing her Psychiatry Board Certification in the USA, with additional training in psychiatry related to medical illness, integrative psychiatry, and completing contemporary psychoanalytic training as a psychoanalyst at the New York Institute of Psychotherapy. She was a psychotherapy supervisor for over 10 years, and lived and worked throughout several regions of the USA, before returning to Australia and obtaining her Australian Fellowship in 2022 (FRANZCP).
